Lord Mancroft has been involved in the gambling industry for many years, including twelve years as Executive Chairman of Inter Lotto (UK) Ltd, one of the leading External Lottery Managers, from their conception in 1995 until the enactment of the new Gambling Act in 2005.

He is also chairman of New Media Lottery Services PLC, an AIM listed technology supplier to the lottery industry, and Vice Chairman of ROK Entertainment Group Inc, a Nasdaq listed corporation. He has recently retired after 15 years on the board of St Martin’s Magazines plc.

Lord Mancroft entered the House of Lords in 1987, and was elected following the reforms in 1999. He was a member of the Joint Scrutiny Committee on the Draft Gambling Bill (2004 – 2005), Joint Select Committee on Statutory Instruments (1997 – 2005), Select Committee on Broadcasting 1992 – 1997). He is a member of the Parliamentary All Party Group on Betting, Gaming & Lotteries, Vice Chairman of the All Party Group on Drug Misuse (1992 - ), and Hon Sec of the Parliamentary All Party Horseracing and Bloodstock Industries Group (1989 – 1992).

Lord Mancroft was chairman of the Addiction Recovery Foundation (1989 – 2007), the Drug & Alcohol Foundation (1996 – 2007), and the Mentor Foundation UK (2002 - 2007). He is Patron of the European Association for the Treatment of Addiction, The Nelson House Trust and the Exborne School Trust.

Lord Mancroft is Vice Chairman of the Countryside Alliance, and Chairman of the Standing Conference on Country Sports.

Lord Mancroft is 50 years old, and lives in Gloucestershire with his wife and three children.
